Bridgewater State University

Boyden Hall

Cupola restoration at Bridgewater State University, retaining the original profiles and architectural detail.

Before the work
Completed work

The original problem

The cupola’s woodwork had deteriorated: rotted cornice trim, peeling paint, and damaged decorative scrollwork. Exposure damage typical of an elevated element bearing the weather.

Condition of the original architectural details

Recommended solution

Rebuild the failed woodwork in kind and repaint the complete cupola, restoring the original profiles and details rather than substituting modern approximations.
